All students have physical education classes weekly and they are encouraged to participate in a range of sporting activities from rugby, football, basketball, unihoc, badminton, and gymnastics to aerobics and step aerobics. In addition, rugby, hockey, football and basketball are available out of school hours.
The rugby team continues to participate in development blitzes organised by Mr Doyle and Leinster Rugby. The school is also involved with a training development officer who aids in coaching weekly. This takes place on Thursdays after school and all are welcome.

The Grammar School provides football as an after-school activity for junior boys. Sessions are played from 1:15 – 2:15pm on Wednesday afternoons at the ‘Cabbage Patch’ facility next to the school. We are very grateful to Dublin City Council for facilitating us at this time. The numbers participating have been on average 12-16 students each week, and we all enjoy the workout and the banter. There is good morale among students and all boys are encouraged to participate. If interested contact Mr. Brady.
During the Summer Term athletics takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Contact Ms Kennington for details.
