t All students have physical education classes weekly and they are encouraged to participate in a range of sporting activities from rugby, football, basketball, unihoc, badminton, and gymnastics to aerobics and step aerobics. In addition, football and basketball are available out of school hours.
Wednesdays from 12.30 to 1.30 for first year students and 1.35 to 3.00 after school for girls from Second to Sixth Year. The girls play and develop key skills and techniques on the outdoor court in preparation for matches in the future. Contact Ms Sweeney for more details.
The Grammar School provides football as an after-school activity for junior and senior boys. Sessions are played from 12:45-1:45pm on Wednesday afternoons at the ‘Cabbage Patch’ facility located next to the school. The boys compete in the official FAI Leinster League and Cup competitions. They also compete in the Dublin Inner City cup. In recent years the girls have successfully formed a team and have played in official competitions the past 2 years.
We are very grateful to Dublin City Council for facilitating us at this time. The numbers training have been on average 12-16 students each week and all enjoy the workout and banter. There is good morale among students and all ability levels are catered for.

Athletics takes place all year round and lots of competitions are entered. In conjunction with Dublin City Council, training takes place in Irishtown. Dublin City Council also helps facilitate equipment for hurdles, long jump, short jump and relays. We are very grateful to all involved and for the Return To Sport grant which allows us to continue training. Upcoming dates include Tuesdays, 14th March, 21st March, and a hurdle challenge on 18th April.
