TY Activities

Killary Adventure Centre

The annual Transition Year trip to Killary Adventure Centre will take place in Spring 2023. This is a bonding week full of excitement and fun and is one of the highlights of TY. The students participate in many activities during the week- abseiling, high ropes course, giant swing, kayaking, gorge walking, orienteering and the Killary challenge, to name a few. See The Patrician magazine on the welcome page of the website.

Musical

One of the highlights of the Transition Year Programme is the annual Musical. The students get to produce and star in their own show. This year the show was in St Patrick’s Cathedral and was a sell out success.

Work Experience

There are three weeks allocated to Work Experience. Students are encouraged to apply for work experience early as there is a lot of competition from schools in the Greater Dublin area. In the past students have applied for work experience all over Ireland. The school insurance form can be obtained from Mr Brady or at this link: Work Insurance Letter

Students must ask their employer to fill in the following form – available from Mr Brady. Work Experience Letter

The dates for the Academic year 2022- 2023 are available on the school calendar or from Mr Brady.
